There is plenty of good quality twine, and the spindle with a handy cutter is indispensible if you are trying to tie up that bird, or tenderloin, or whatnot. Who wants to have more items out on the table, and more trips to get those items, and more effort to try and find shears to cut the twine that don't already need washing to prevent cross contamination? I do wish it was a little prettier and that the string was covered to keep it clean, but at least the holder has the cutter and there is plenty of string. The cutter is sharp so I don't need a lot of force to cut the string which is a good thing, because I use it mainly for a rather unconventional purpose. [2] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-03-31 Summary: Easy to use ... Working with kitchen twine to tie off game hens, pork loins, et al is always a bit of a hassle, especially when the meat is marinated. These bands are easy to use and place around food items; much faster than looping and tying twine. Compared to the cooking twine, it's not very cost effective, but if you don't tie off roasts, game birds, etc., very often, you'll want to go with these for ease of use. ...more

Just stretch them over your cook and they hold your stuff. And they really tolerate the heat. I used some on a chicken rotisserie to keep the extremities bound. The bands were 3 inches away from high temp as the bird rotated and looked good as new when done. Buy these and toss the twine. ...more
